Concealed Weapon Permit Course

To start your Concealed Weapons Permit Course in the State of Florida

Division of Licensing Requirements:

  • The applicant must be 21 years or older.
  • The applicant is required 4 hours of training with a certified NRA Instructor.
  • The applicant is required to take firearms training.
  • The applicant is required target training and handgun marksmanship.
  • The applicant is required ammunition training and firearms care.
  • The applicant must submit fingerprinting.
  • The applicant must undergo an FBI fingerprint background check.
  • The applicant must have no record of any substance abuse

At Excel Security School, we provide our students with a Package which includes:

  • Firearm for Proficiency Training

In the Concealed Weapons Permit Course, there is a classroom lecture, video & exam presented. All students must go to the firearms range and safely discharge a firearm in the presence of the firearms instructor. All students must attend the range training. Your fingerprints, passport pictures and notary are required to submit your application to the State of Florida. The concealed weapon permit issued in Florida is good in 34 States and valid for 7 years. All instructors are certified NRA instructors.

Equipment for CWP Course Qualification:
• .38 or .357 Cal Revolver
• .380 cal or 9mm semi-automatic handgun
• 3+ speed loaders or 3+ magazines
• NO cross draw, shoulder, SOB or ankle holsters
• Comfortable clothing
• Notebook & Writing Materials

No firearms, guns or ammunition allowed in the classroom

All classes are held weekly Fridays 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm

Completion of the Course

After the course is completed,  a Certificate of Completion will be disbursed for successfully completing this course. Applications are to be submitted to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Licensing. Applications will be processed within 60-90 days of submission, afterward, initial license (hard copy) will be issued and mailed to the applicant. Once issued Class “W” License will be valid for 7 years.
